Laughing Buddha Charity Partners
Laughing Buddha Music is committed to producing music of the highest quality. We also do our best to practice right livelihood, dealing ethically with our artists, our customers, and our suppliers, and dedicating a portion of our income to charitable and humanitarian causes. We are definitely a for-profit corporation, and we certainly want to do well, but we also hope to do some good.
Laughing Buddha made a decision in 2006 to commit 10% of its proceeds from each new release to a charitable cause specially selected to harmonize with the CD's theme and style. We are blessed with a group of talented and creative artists on the Laughing Buddha label, and we are blessed with a group of outstanding charitable organizations who make our work more satisfying and more fun.
Let us introduce you to some of our charitable partners:
Dreams Can Be Foundation is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization and a Brazilian NGO dedicated to aiding street children and impoverished youth in Brazil. Dreams Can Be works in partnership with local organizations and NGOs to provide: education, moral and social development, humanitarian relief, and the offering of opportunities where there were none before.
Laughing Buddha has committed 10% of its proceeds from Asa Branca to Dreams Can Be Foundation for the support of the Reciclarte Institute, a music education program that offers classes to more then 150 underprivileged children in Rio de Janeiro. The Institute aims to develop artistic potentials, cultural identities and citizenship consciousness: stimulate the intellectual development and the self-esteem of children and youth in social risk situations.
Seva Foundation was formed in 1978 with a mission to alleviate suffering caused by disease and poverty. Seva Foundation’s approach is to build partnerships that respond to locally defined problems with culturally sustainable solutions. Working in nine countries in addition to the United States, Seva Foundation supports projects in the areas of health and wellness, community development, environmental protection and cultural preservation.
Laughing Buddha has committed 10% of its proceeds from Healing Stream to Seva Foundation to support its Native American DiabetesWellness Program. Recognizing that conventional health practices failed to stem the tide of diabetes, Seva offers a Native solution, a "Talking Circles” model, based on the core values, beliefs and traditions common to Native peoples

The Tibet Fund is dedicated to helping Tibetans improve their lives and preserve their distinct cultural, religious and national identity. The Tibet Fund brings urgently needed resources to the educational, cultural, health and socio-economic institutions that sustain the Tibetan way of life, language, and traditions.

The World Youth Leadership Network brings young people together to conceive, plan, and execute philanthropic, educational and cultural activities. Since its founding, WYLN has assisted in the creation of IT centers in Arica, provided medical aid to the Middle East and Africa, and organized peace concerts and other cultural events in the U.S., India and Japan.
Laughing Buddha and the World Leadership Network developed and presented a concert in Carnegie Hall in 2007 to benefit West Africa. That concert included a multi-media tribute to Chiune Sugihara written and produced by Rex Niswander and Michael Barry of Laughing Buddha.
