Laughing Buddha Records announces the release of
Asa Branca, a new CD of Brazilian Music from the
flute and guitar duo, Dois no Choro. 10% of the proceeds
will be donated to the Dreams
Can Be Foundation to support the Instituto Reciclarte
Project.
Asa Branca is a collection of Brazilian instrumental
and vocal music featuring Paulinho Garcia (guitar)
and Julie Koidin (flute), who perform together as
Dois no Choro. The CD features beautiful new arrangements
of Brazilian classics, and the duo is joined by special
guest musicians on percussion, bandoneon and mandolin.

Laughing Buddha Records announces the release of
Night Wheel, a new CD of international lullabies.
10% of the proceeds will be donated to the Tibet
Fund to support the Noenga School of Disabled
Tibetan Children.
Laughing Buddha Records, a progressive, independent
label based in midtown Manhattan, is releasing
an extraordinary new CD from guitarist Michael
Barry and Friends. The album features original
arrangements of lullabies collected from around
the world, including Tibet, Africa, Ireland, the
United States, Cuba, and yes, even Tonga. This
is the 13th release for the young label, and the
charity tie-in represents a new direction for Laughing
Buddha. Producers Rex Niswander and Michael Barry
are donating 10% of the proceeds from this record
to the Tibet Fund to support the Noenga School
for Disabled Tibetan Chldren. Using this new release
as a model, the label intends to continue releasing
music that will benefit humanitarian and environmental
causes.
Night Wheel features Michael Barry, director of
the International Studio of Music, home of the
legendary American Institute of Guitar, on a variety
of guitars from acoustic to baritone. He is joined
by a collection of New York musicians on instruments
ranging from bamboo flute to cello and mandolin.
While soothing and relaxing for the very young,
the album also provides a unique listening experience
for moms and dads, as the music transports the
listener with instruments and musical imagery suggestive
of the lands from which these songs have come.
